What makes a good music video

A good music video needs to be properly synced with the lyrics, avoid gaining viewer fatigue and using a variety of shots to keep the video looking interesting and keep the viewer interested.

Having the lip sync good is very important because if it seemed out of time it would become clear to the viewer that it is a lip sync but also it would look weird on the screen hearing the words and then afterwards seeing the singers mouth move trying to show the words. If this was to happen then the viewer would not be as interested in the music video as it would be clear that they did not try to make the video look right or successful.

If during a music video the audience begin to get bored with what they are seeing, this is called viewer fatigue. It is important that during a music video the audience does not gain viewer fatigue because if they do they will not want to watch any more, making it an un-successful music video. To avoid gaining viewer fatigue it is important that there are a kot of different camera angles, ranges in shot length- short and long clips, but also not always just showing the group/singer just standing there singing, but using a lot of different locations and have cut-aways with the people actually doing somehting interesting rather than just playing/singing the song.
