Brief
For our task we need to create a promotion package for the release of an album and to include a music promo video by doing the following:
Developing my Skills On Final Cut Express
- I am able to confidently use Final Cut and edit a clip knowing what I am doing.
- Since when I first used it I am now able to use more of the settings well to make a clip look decent.
- I can now sync clips with a different sound well, which will be important when we go to edit our final project.
- I don't use all of the tools that are there to be used because I don't know what they all do.
- Sometimes it is difficult to line the clips up correctly without moving other clips out of time/sync.
- Kept needing to render clips all the time which made it difficult to edit the clip well.

Finished In The Sun Task And Commentary
WWW:
- We all successfully managed to follow what was required of us to get the music video done and looking as much like the official 'In The Sun' as possible.
- All of the shots look steady and have good framing showing all that we needed to in the shot.
- We was all well organised which made the shots all look better because people knew what they were doing in the shot making it easier to film the shot to a good standard and have everything in it done correctly.
- Everyone took good responsibility for what their roles were which made it easier to film but also made the clip look better because we quickly set up everything correctly and had all of the props that were needed on hand to use which again made it look more like the official music video.
- A couple shots look different to the ones in the music video because we wasn't able to get the correct angle of the shot to make it look similar because we didn't have some of the equipment they had, for example, the birds eye shot in the gym; in the official music video they were able to use a crane to get above everyone so it was directly above them. However because we didn't have this someone climbed up holding the camera on the fig-rig to give a similar effect.
- There isn't always lip syncing during the clip which is slightly different to the real music video but it isn't obvious that there in no lip syncing at times which is good because it means that the shots were good enough.

Transition From Year 12 To 13
I think from year 12 to 13 I have developed my skills on the mac quite a lot and have got more confident with using a different range of programs that I haven't used before.
Although I had already used imovie in GCSE I was introduced to different programs that I hadn't used before which at first was quite challenging but throughout the year when we did more and more work on them programs and got shown different things we were able to do on eash program, for example getting an imovie docuument in final cut and using livetype ot create a title sequence. I wasn't sure as to how to use these at first but after a while of using the program and getting shown different ways to edit a clip on it I began to understand it better and find it easier to use these programs.
In year 13 we have been dominantly using final cut to edit a clip rather than imovie. At first I was clueless with what we were able to do on it and how; however after working with others who were more sure about how to use the program and getting shown what different things we could use to edit a clip that wasn't on imovie. I feel that throughout the year I will get more and more sure with final cut so I will hopefully be able to edit clips more confidently and better. Also each time I use final cut now I seem to find out something new that you are able to do on it.

WWW and EBI for my contribution in the 'In The Sun' whole group task
1) When I needed to film as shot I was able to film the shot well enough to get the shot done well enough and quickly so that we were able to get on the next shot as soon as possible.
2) I carried out the role I had well (lighting) by getting the lights set up quickly where I needed to so that we were able to film the shot quickly. Also I think the lighting was quite similar to the 'In The Sun' video which was good because we needed to make everything as similar as possible.
3) Got involved in bits where I needed to, such as dancing in some places and doing it so it looked a bit like what it did in the music video.
EBI:
1) If I gave more suggestions to what a shot should look like because when I wasn't involved in a shot I didn't really put a lot of ideas forward for when others would have been doing some shots.
2) Taken on a bit more responsibility rather than just working on what I specifically was in charge of so that I was helping out others if they needed help.
3) Do more when setting up shots because I didn't really do much when setting up shots except for if the lighting needed to be done.
Reflecting On Music Video Challenge
When we filmed our whole class video for 'In The Sun' I was in charge of the lightning of each shot, if we needed to use the lights or if it wasn't necessary to use them and just have natural lighting or lights that are already at that locations being used. Also it wasn't a job but everyone needed to be in charge of and film at least one of the shots for the clip. When doing this is was quite easy because everyone was well prepared and ready to just do the shot so I didn't need to say what people needed to do in the shot just when I was about to film to get ready and for them all to begin moving. This was good because it showed everyone was well prepared for it and that made it an easy shot to get done and film.
The lighting wad quite an easy role to take on because once I knew how to set the lights up it was quick and easy to get them into the correct place to allow me to get the lighting needed to make the shot look as similar and good as the lighting that was in the official 'In The Sun' video. Most of the time it was not necessary to set up the lights because the lights that were already in the corridor made it look similar to the shot from the video or for some of the shots we were able to use natural lighting, for example, all of the shots in the gym because it already provided enough light to make the shot look good enough. However when we did use the lights I feel that they were set up well enough so that we got the effect that we wanted from them and they were done properly so the lighting was similar enough to the shots in the 'In The Sun' video.

In The Sun Lip Sync Task
WWW:
1) We got everyone involved in the lp sync and everyone knew the words well enough to get the song done.
2) We didn't only lip sync we incorporated the piano bit actually ebing played on the instrument so that it didn't begin with just us standing there.
3) We went thorugh the whole song successfullly and managed to equally edit the clip so that everyone had a fair amount of time on screen doing the lip sync.
EBI:
1) It's not always clear what some of the words that people are miming are because their not moving their mouth fully and clearly enough.
2) Have more going on on screen at times because at times it'sjust someone standing there miming the words and it looks a bit boring.
3) Maybe not film it all in the same location because it's quite plain and doesn't look very interesting.
